A GUIDE TO PODCASTS
Many people have heard the word podcast, but aren’t quite sure what it means or how to listen.
Now that we have launched our own podcasts, this guide will help you get started.
What is a podcast?
A podcast is like a radio show you can listen to anytime
You can listen on a phone, tablet, or computer
Each podcast is made up of episodes (like parts of a series)
Episodes can cover stories, news, health, hobbies, or advice
In simple terms:
A podcast is on-demand audio
It’s easy to use
You choose what to listen to and when
How is a podcast different from radio?
You don’t have to listen at a set time
You can pause, rewind, or replay
You can choose exactly what you want to listen to
What do you need to listen?
A device (smartphone, tablet, or computer)
An internet connection
A podcast app or a website
How do you listen to a podcast?
Option 1: Through a website
Many podcasts have their own website
You can click a link and press play ▶️ to listen
Option 2: Using an app (recommended)
Open a podcast app (many devices already have one)
You can also use apps like Spotify, Amazon Music, or Apple Podcasts
Use the search to find a podcast
Press play ▶️ to start listening
Press ‘subscribe’ to get new episodes automatically
Option 3: On YouTube
Search for the podcast on YouTube
Press play ▶️ to listen or watch
You can subscribe or save it for later
