The Sonic Tonic with Andy Houghton

I got involved primarily because I lost my Father to Alzheimer’s last year so it was a topic close to my heart. Secondly my love of music and I’d done a couple of years of hospital radio which I enjoyed.

My show is The Sonic Tonic every Monday at 11.00am. The core of the show is 60s, 70,s 80, with a sprinkling of newer tracks. I hope to play different tunes and ones maybe people haven’t heard much before. There is a lot of great music out there people haven’t heard. A good song is a good song doesn’t matter who sings it!! Favourite Song - Always a hard one this. If I had to pick one it would be Martin Stephenson and the Daintees and a track called Crocodile Cryer. 1st proper song bought - Je sui un Rock Star by Bill Wyman on holiday in Cornwall in 1981. I was 9!

Best Musical Experience.

Winning the best newcomer award at the National Hospital Broadcasting awards a few years ago. Gig wise it would be INXS at the Royal Court Liverpool 1993. Best live band ever.
